Skating is the foundation of playing hockey. It takes proper skating mechanics, explosive speed, quickness and balance to consistently outmaneuver your opponents and become a top player. This is why hundreds of past and present professional hockey players from Brett Hull to Shawn Horcoff have trained at Athletic Republic. A proud performance sports training partner with USA Hockey, the Athletic Republic Hockey Training Program is an innovative, scientifically proven 6 – 8 week program that focuses on power, critical movement skills for every skill level and position, skating technique and efficiency for on-ice results.
Under the direction of Dan Boothby, Head Strength & Conditioning coach of Northeastern University, DB Performance's revolutionary programs use a cutting edge approach to athletic training for everyone from Olympic to youth athletes to working professionals.

THE SCIENCE OF SKATING
Ever since we first started blending the science of physiology and biomechanics with sport-specific training more than 25 years ago, we’ve made it our singular quest to be the go-to place for serious athletes. We’ve developed a unique program that applies sports science to properly develop hockey players of all ages — increasing a player's stride frequency, stride length, bio-mechanics, conditioning, power out-put, shot velocity, puck control and dynamic stability. We pride ourself on speed and separation and knowing that in the "new" NHL, speed and power dictate on-ice success. Utilizing the hockey treadmill, specialized weight equipment, a progression of plyometrics matched with proven training protocols that have been followed by nearly 500 professional hockey players, we have created a program designed to help you "Light the Lamp".
The Athletic Republic Hockey Treadmill was a lot harder than I expected, but my skating definitely improved. All the guys who used it really benefited. After every program was completed, there was improvement out on the ice."
